A Little Bit of Encouragem-Ant!

Oh the wonderful warm sunlight washing over you sort of feeling I get when I am complimented, it is an amazing feeling. It is a wonder we do not compliment others more. Although, this is all coming from a person recovering from a moderate level of social anxiety. I know why I do not do this more, lol. I am always overthinking what the other person will think. Will they understand what I meant? Will they take it the wrong way? Will my perfectly nice compliment somehow offend them? I have the tendency to get all into my head and miss the moment altogether.

When I think about complimenting someone, my mind runs straight to the stereotypical compliments. Nice hair. Cute shoes. Pretty dress. But, what if we challenged this idea, and gave compliments that hit a little deeper.

I also felt inspired by Benedict Polizzi who creates videos about catcalling women politely. Now, I am not approving of catcalling. As a female, I am obviously not a fan of this, but I was inspired by how he can turn something stereotypically negative into a positive compliment. As I was thinking about compliments, my brain’s pun department started to run. What if they were complim-ants? And, what if I made something that made giving compliments easier or more cute at least. Thus, the complim-ant journey began. I designed a set of filled in printable complim-ants along with a blank set for you to create your own. For those of us more apt to send a text message compliment, I created a series of eight textable images with compliments as well.
