Coping Tools

Title 'What I Water, Grows' with flowers labeled safety, coping skills, hope, self-love, healthy boundaries, belonging, peace, self-patience, community, coping tools, just be, and at my own pace on a light blue background

Coping skills start as coping tools. They become coping skills once we practice them and can then apply them in the moment of need. Think of it like learning CPR. You want to learn the method of CPR before you need it. Even if you know how it is done, but have not practiced it, you will be likely to not implement it in an effective way. This is why a course on CPR involves actual practice before the moment of crisis.

“Breathing Exercises” by Grandview Kids

These are designed to be used with younger kiddos but I have utilized some of these and found them useful as an adult. The cute illustrations add a touch of whimsy.
